Are you wasting your life for Christ? Where’s that happening for you? Where’s your ministry? There are ways to waste your life but serving Christ is not one of them. You don’t want to be left out of this on Easter Sunday. Jesus has risen from the dead. He is loose in the world. You want to be a part of that in a very intentional way.

There’s probably a prodigal in each of us – a part of us that squanders our potential, gets lost in self-indulgence. There’s probably also an elder son or daughter in each of us – that part of us that has a hard time dispensing grace to people who don’t deserve it. The Father, God, wants both sons and daughters.

Whatever it means to be a Christian, it means to follow Christ in the midst of a world that is often a hostile environment. Isn’t that true? If you are serious about following Christ there will always be some tension. It’s never completely safe. You can’t turn your back and assume that it’s just going to be there. It’s a cultivation process that goes on within an environment not conducive to its growth. Jesus ran into the opposition at the crucifixion. That’s how powerful it is. Don’t underestimate the forces against the Christian faith.
