Ministry Opportunities
Covenant Ministry

One of our basic beliefs at MPPC is that, at baptism, we are called into ministry by God. We are the church and God uses the church as an instrument for ministry in the world.

We believe every member of this church has a special ministry to do God’s work in the world. We also expect every MPPC member to make an annual commitment to be in a ministry for one year. Every Member Has a Ministry is the annual Lenten initiative at MPPC during which church members are asked to discern their ministry for the coming year. This discernment process is facilitated by the Covenant Ministry office.

Make your Ministry Commitment

Members are asked to spend the forty days of Lent in discernment about their specific call to a ministry for the coming year.  On Easter Sunday, we will come forward as a church to the foot of the cross with our commitment cards.

The opportunities book is not an exhaustive list, but only a suggestion of possible ministry areas. We encourage you to name your ministry, whatever it may be. For example, if you are taking care of an older parent or spouse or you are involved in a community agency not on our list, just tell us.

Name your ministry, whatever it is, and write it down on your commitment card. Then turn it in on Easter Sunday. Cards are available in the church office or make your commitment now online.
