What does it mean to be called? A Bible dictionary defines "call" as a term designating God's summons to a specific task or role. Frederick Buechner defined "call" as "The place where your deep gladness and the world's deep hunger meet."
At our baptism, God calls us into full time Christian service which includes worship and responding to God's activity in the world through service to others. At a certain time your call may be to work within our church. At another it may be a call to be involved in the world outside of our buildings. Answering your call is to join God where he is already at work, wherever that may be -- next door, at church, across the nation, in the global community.
