Adult Classes Overview

ACTS — (Adults Caring Through Scripture ) (40s, 50s): E-202. This year’s focus will be on learning how to study the Bible and apply the Bible’s lessons to our daily lives.  Classes will be led by various members of the staff, class members, and members of  the Christian community outside of our church.  We welcome new members to our class.

Covenant(50s, 60s, 70s, 80s): E-204: the class focuses on the Bible, personal relationships with God and other human beings, Church history, etc.  We are a “cooperative” class in which all members are responsible for at least 1-2 lessons a year— either teaching themselves or inviting a speaker.

Faithfulness in Daily Life — (40s, 50s, 60s, 70s): E-206: open discussion using contemporary Christian books and publications chosen by the class.

Family and Faith(all ages): E-101. a family oriented class exploring faithful living through group discussion, lecture, video, and visiting teachers

Fellowship —  (50s, 60s): CLC-204: A “Baby Boomer” class, all dealing with similar life issues, who share a desire for a deeper understanding of our faith and its impact on our lives.  We nurture ourselves through a truly varied curriculum, using a format of two- to three-week study series, each with a different spiritual focus, led by outside speakers or clergy.  We also set aside time for service and fellowship with each other.

Gateway(40s, 50s, 60s): Parlor. A Deeper Journey: Preparing for the Journey to Discipleship and Transformation. We will explore God's call to our church to become more faith-filled, within ourselves, our church, our community, and our world.

Live B.I.G. — (parents of 3-year-olds thru 5th grade): E-207. Parents study the same themes, Bible stories, and Bible verses that their children are learning in the Live B.I.G. (Belief in God) curriculum for 3 year-olds through 5th grade.  You and your family can grow in faith—together!

MPACT(Myers Park Active Christians Today) (all ages): E-205. We enjoy studying the Bible and exploring contemporary social issues, supporting one another in joys and sorrows, and enjoying fellowship and fun while learning to live out our faith each day.

Providence (30s, 40s): CLC-201. open to all!  We build fellowship thru scripture-based discussion of issues around relationships, parenting, work/life balance, using both speakers and class leaders.
