Worldwide Ministries
Beyond Charlotte

The vision of Worldwide Ministries is to celebrate and spread God's love by nurturing and sustaining relationships between MPPC and our brothers and sisters in Christ living beyond the borders of the United States.

Mission of  MPPC Worldwide Ministries

  • Engage and Involve MPPC Members in Mission
  • Support a variety of International Missions
  • Study and Reflect on the Word
  • Seek Justice throughout the World

Involving MPPC membership:

MPPC members travel to Malawi to nurture relationships with the Synod of Livingstonia, various churches and Malawians with whom MPPC has been in partnership with for over the last 12 years. In 2007 the synod requested a delegation from MPPC come to Malawi to assist them in setting up an accounting system.

MPPC continues to have a Twinning relationship with The Great Church in Debrecen , Hungary . Once a year a worship service is held at MPPC and The Great Church on the same Sunday with MPPC delegates in Debrecen and Hungarian delegates at MPPC. Because the worship services are identical, it serves to remind us we are all in one in Christ.

MPPC members travel to the Congo to nurture and deepen a relationship that began in the 1950’s. The most recent visit was in 2007. MPPC members partner with Presbyterian Church of the Kasai (CPK) and the Medical Institute of Kasai (IMCK) to support various projects. MPPC also has a strong relationship with Nancy and Mike Hanninger, PC(USA) co-mission workers in the village of Tshikaji .

In July 2007, our MPPC Habitat for Humanity (HFH) El Salvador brigade participated in an annual building blitz called “Building on Faith.”  Future MPPC brigades will continue to support the campaign by working in El Salvador's first model community (named the “Charlotte Model Community”), Building on Faith projects, and other programs that arise from our relationships with local churches.
