Seigle Avenue Ministries

Seigle Avenue Cooperative Preschool

Seigle Avenue Preschool, a ministry for children aged 2-4 and their families, is a partnership among parents, children, staff and volunteers working together in Charlotte communities. MPPC members may participate in activities with the children, work with parents or work with preschool staff.

The preschool prepares children to succeed in school by using curriculums in early childhood development. The program was created 15 years ago as a joint effort between Seigle Avenue Presbyterian Church and the Junior League of Charlotte.

Seigle Avenue Partners

Seigle Avenue Partners (SAP) is a ministry for school-age children and youth in an after-school setting. It was created in the fall of 1999.

The mission is to build hope into the lives of children and their families in Charlotte communities. The program combines the efforts and energy of the people in Charlotte communities. This is a successful program for neighborhood children during critical after-school hours (a safe haven) with caring adult supervision and instruction.

The Out-Of-School Time program serves children in elementary through middle school. The program provides quality out-of-school experiences that enrich school day learning during a seven-week summer program designed to promote retention of academic skills.

Once a client is employed, Jacob's Ladder provides six months of follow-up, counseling and training to encourage and track job retention. Jacob's ladder collaborates with a number of other agencies and local churches that serve similar client populations.
