The 2009 Funding for Mission and Ministry campaign - a campaign that funds our church's annual operating budget - is officially underway.Given today's economy and the continued conflict in
Iraq, the theme of this year's campaign Trust with all Your Heart could not be more appropriate.There is no better time as Christians to show our faith in, and commitment to, the Lord's work.
So what exactly is this money used for?
Helping others:our church's outreach programs are noted locally, regionally, nationally and globally for their effectiveness.Here are just a few examples.At Double Oaks, we provide daycare to children whose parents have no other alternatives.At the
HarvestCenter, we provide food, shelter, clothing and medical assistance to the homeless.In
Iowa, we are helping flood victims.In
Malawi, one of the poorest countries in the world, we are striving to ensure clean water.
Spreading hope:each year, we join together on diverse mission trips that vary in purpose and destination yet are united in sharing God's word.
Keeping the lights on and the doors open:our church is an incredible place to learn about the
kingdom of
God and change lives through Jesus Christ.All of the basic necessities are funded by this campaign.
Consider how your needs, those of this community, and those of the world are met by this church.Then give from your heart.
