Do I have to attend every workshop?
100% participation at every worshop is the expectation. (In the Class of 2006, one person missed one workshop due to hip replacement surgery -- then was back the next week!)
What if family or work responsibilities prevent me from attending?
In the event you miss a workshop, you will, of course, be expected to do all the work assigned. However, since the officer development experience is interactive and the small groups so crucial to the experience, 'making up' a missed workshop will be almost impossible to do. The leaders will work with you regarding questions you might have about content.
What do I have to do to prepare for each workshop?
Advance preparation is essential to making the best use of our time together. The Workshop Overview and Assignments sheet, as well as the website, has the weekly assignments which include: readings in Called to Serve, Book of Confessions, Book of Order, answering questions in the Study Guide, and filling out worksheets.
What if I have questions that aren't answered in our workshops?
The workshop leaders and the other pastors are available between workshops to chat with you about your questions and concerns. Feel free to contact them directly.
