BACKGROUND

As a native of Arkansas, I earned my undergraduate degree in that state and my master’s degree in business administration from Baylor University.   Prior to joining Myers Park Presbyterian as administrator in 1999,  my career included two years of service in Zimbabwe; academic administration in Liberia/West Africa; positions in financial services, publishing and a denominational agency; and administrator for First Presbyterian of Dallas, Texas.

FAITH

Recognizing and exercising the gift of faith involves authentically living in relation to God and humanity.  A living faith is marked by actions of will, mind and heart.  The faith journey calls for the full response to the presence and purpose of Christ.  It is a “yes” to God’s grace and a life filled with meaning and challenge.

THE CHURCH

Frederick Buechner reminds us that we cannot live whole lives without others and God.  At its true essence, the church is a channel of Christ’s love in a world that has lost its way.  It is a group of people who have experienced God’s love and deliverance and want to share their experience with those around them.  It is a community that helps others heal and discover the wholeness God desires for everyone.

MINISTRY

Extending mercy, making God's kingdom known, caring for creation, walking with those who would enter the kingdom of God:  these are hallmarks of Christian ministry.

SERVICE AS ADMINISTRATOR

Using God-given abilities in the service of Christ is a privilege.  It is both a joy and blessing to facilitate each of Myers Park Presbyterian’s ministries.

Participating in the work of this unique congregation is invigorating and stretching.  This church’s commitment to community, growth as disciples of Christ, and investment in the work of God in this world inspire my work.  It is good to count fellow staff, members and ministry partners as companions on the journey.
