How to download and listen to Podcasts

How to get the Myers Park Presbyterian Church Sermon Podcast
If you are using the latest version of ITunes the process is very simple. Open ITunes and at the top of the program window select the "Advanced" toolbar. Then select "Subscribe to Podcast." A small window will then open asking for the web address of the podcast you wish to subscribe to. Cut and paste the following address: http://myersparkpres.typepad.com/podcasts/rss.xml  Hit enter and you're done! ITunes will now automatically download the latest sermon podcast as it becomes available each week. Sermons are normally online Monday afternoon following each Sunday worship.

What If I don't use ITunes?
Downloading and playing the podcast is still very simple. Click here to visit our podcasting homepage. You will see the sermons available as an .mp3 audio file. You can either click a sermon link and listen to the audio on the website or right-click the link and save the sermon audio file to your computer or .mp3 player.

What is Podcasting?
Podcasting is an audio broadcast available for download online. The term Podcasting was made popular by Apple's IPod, but all that is required to listen to a podcast is a music player capable of playing .mp3 audio files.

The most popular software for listening to Podcasts is the free iTunes software available from Apple. This program allows you to download podcasts for both Mac and PC users. Once the software is installed you may download episodes individually or subscribe and ITunes will automatically download the latest version of sermons as soon as it becomes available.

If you own an IPod you can automatically sync it with ITunes and take your Podcasts with you anywhere. If not, you can download Podcasts directly to your computer hard drive and listen there or burn them to a CD. If you have questions about podcasting, you may email us at info@myersparkpres.org.
